• The multi-tier version of AMOS is programmed in JAVA (object oriented programming), the most popular programming language on the market today.
• AMOS is fully web-enabled which implies the availability of data to whom you want, where you want and when you want. Dependent on the user’s need, ’rich’ client system installations versus ’thin’ client installations are possible alternatives.
• Client updates are performed via web.
• The software is hardware independent. The scalability and flexibility in connection with the choice of hardware/server guarantees the customer a fast return on his investment.
• Optimum tuning of the system: The bandwidth of the customer’s network can be profitably used due to the system’s different compression modi steering the transfer of data.
• For the time being, the system is based on the relational database management system Sybase. On a mid-term basis database independence shall be reached.
• AMOS is a fully integrated system being based on object-oriented architecture.
• Due to the system’s hyperlink technology, linked functionalities can be opened by mouseclick.
• The Graphical User Interface implies ease of use.
• The database administration tools are an inherent part of the system.
• The advanced integration of any kind of external objects into AMOS, such as scanned documents, digital pictures, videos is part of the system. The integration of external objects into AMOS is in particular important with regard to the ‘partnumber’, ‘workorder’, ‘taskcard’ and ‘modification control’ systems. An independent AMOS file system has been created on the AMOS database server so that files can be saved within AMOS. Thereby, restrictions imposed by your LAN are by-passed.
• Every module is equipped with a comprehensive set of reports. The customer may create its own reports with any standard report tool (Access, Crystal Reports etc.).
• Basic working documents, such as workorders, labels, order printouts, taskcards are tailored to the customers’ corporate identity.
• The AMOS support tool is actively used by all our customers.
